Struggles

In the past two weeks, I’ve tried one approach to writing my blogpost which is more rigid and structured. But I end up overthinking the process., so I end up not finishing anything.
After reading “Get to the Point,” I thought I would give the lessons I got there a try. Like, ‘start with a point.’ I became obsessed with getting to the point so much and outlining my arguments that I end up editing more while I write, which, I think, killed my creativity. So I’ve missed posting blog posts for two Mondays now.
I gave it a try because I want to have a point when I write; I was scared to write with no sense. But I guess I need to embrace that. At least, I realized I feel more comfortable freewriting than following a rigid plan.
For example, I wrote at least 12 different first drafts for my blogpost, “Say Thank You More.”

Until I felt overwhelmed. And stopped developing it.
What appeared in the blogpost is a working draft, not a finished draft. And I posted it because I committed to publish a blogpost every Monday. Yet, days after I posted it I was still revising it until I didn't know what to do anymore. So I thought, I should move on, and accept my defeat.
I guess I have a higher chance of reaching a final draft when I freewrite than when I follow a rigid structure.
If there’s any point I want to make in this blogpost, it is this: what works for others may not work for everyone. But we may still try, so we discover what works for us.
